In her welcome address to Orot’s incoming students, Rabbanit Dr. Ruti Shapira highlighted the deeper mission of education and the values at the heart of Orot Israel College. Drawing on the example of Abraham our forefather, she reminded students that great educators do more than teach; they recognize the unique potential in every individual, inspire personal growth, and create harmony and a sense of belonging. Just as every musician contributes to an orchestra, every student has a special role to play in shaping the world around them.
At Orot, this vision is at the heart of teacher education: combining a strong foundation of Torah and values with academic excellence and professional training. Rabbanit Shapira encouraged the new students to become educators who see the greatness in every child, bring light into their classrooms, and make a lasting impact on their schools and communities.
