About Eye on Education
Offering a fresh outlook on modern educational challenges, the "Eye on Education" is edited by Rav Yonah Goodman, Orot's Director of the Institute for Contemporary Chinuch with Emunah. Each issue consists of a brief article written by a leading rabbi or educator - including many distinguished members of Orot's faculty - from across the country and around the world. The Hebrew edition has gained a broad following among school superintendents, principals, teachers, and educators, and we have decided to produce an English version as well. Rabbi Reuven Spolter, a member of Orot's staff, adapts these articles to address the educational issues and concerns germane to the English-speaking community
Background
In the yeshiva world, the Rosh Yeshiva would traditionally deliver a weekly address, which would offer a Jewish approach to current events. These talks served as a significant part of the students' education and growth. "Eye on Education" strives to achieve the same goal. Every issue contains a short article that sheds light on a different aspect of contemporary life and the educational issues that we confront in our yeshivot and day schools.
The English edition of "Eye on Education" is geared towards parents, educators, and anyone else interested in gaining insight on current educational challenges that Orthodox parents and educators face from a Religious Zionist perspective. From Facebook to Yom Yerushalayim; ADHD to costumes on Purim, we are confident that you will find בעין חינוכית both enriching and thought-provoking.
